Use Local 24V DC Supply While Isolated
The 2 Wire POTS Power Coupler injects DC power on a 2W POTS line in order to line power an end device, such as a Fiber Optic Link unit. A 24VDC or 48VDC power supply connects to the power input of the Power Coupler and is isolated from the incoming 2-Wire line.
The card uses the transformer to pass voice frequencies. Solid state relay contacts on the line side of the coupler duplicate Off-Hook and Pulse Dialing output from the CO card. When Ring signals are detected, solid state relay contacts bypass the coupling transformer and apply the ring signals directly to the CO card. The card can be used when the Off-Hook DC voltage between Tip and Ring is below 17 volts DC.
